Entinen jääkiekkoilija Mark Kirton on kuollut, kertoo NHL.
Kirton oli kuollessaan 67-vuotias. Mies menehtyi parantumattomaan ALS-tautiin.
Kyseessä on tauti, jonka seurauksena on lihasten surkastuminen. Kirtonin lisäksi esimerkiksi Börje Salming on kuollut ALS:n seurauksena.
Kirton pelasi NHL-urallaan 266 ottelua. Hän edusti Torontoa, Detroitia ja Vancouveria.
